“In the South they don’t mind how close I get, so long as I don’t get too big. In the North they don’t mind how big I get, so long as I don’t get too close.”
  — Dick Gregory

Welcome to The Dick Gregory Society. Dr. Gregory was my best friend for many years.  We protested wrongs together all over the world.  As you may know, he was known for helping so many people with natural health care and the importance of drinking adequate water each day, fighting for civil and human rights, working with Native Americans to uphold their rights, recognizing animal rights and of course, he was always willing to help us find something to be grateful for and something about which we could laugh and relieve some of the tensions of our day.

In remembrance of my good friend, I organized The Dick Gregory Society, and began a radio program on WPFW-FM 89.3 in remembrance of Dr. Gregory.  Shortly after he made his transition, I also wrote a book about him called "Wake Up and Stay Woke" that includes a discussion of many of the things he said and did.  I have worked with his son, Dr. Christian Gregory, to work on projects in memory of his Dad who meant so much to so many people.

Just recently, Dr. Gregory edited a book entitled "The Essential Dick Gregory." I served on the Research and Editorial Team, and together Dr. Gregory and I regularly work on projects in remembrance of  Dick Gregory.  We invite you to become a member of the team that we call "Dick Gregory Disciples." You can do that by donating to our work and/or by signing up and helping us to carry on the kind of work that made Dick Gregory one of the greatest!
