THE FOUNDER: DR. E. FAYE WILLIAMS, ESQ.

H.E. Dr. E. Faye Williams, Esq. is the former National President/CEO Emeritus of the National Congress of Black Women, Inc., now International President of The Dick Gregory Society, Inc.  and former Counsel to the U.S. Congress’ DC Sub-Committee on the Judiciary and Education.

She has served as Legislative Counsel and Chief of Staff for the District of Columbia City Council. She was a Presidential Scholars Commissioner for President Barack Obama.

Prior to her current work, Dr. Williams was a teacher in Los Angeles Unified Schools and an International Law Professor at Southern University School of Law. She has worked for several units of the National Education Association, including serving as Director of the Overseas Education Association, Atlanta Association of Educators and Michigan Education Association.

As a United Nations Peace Ambassador, Dr. Williams is listed in History Makers and is a Marquis Lifetime Achievement Awardee.

Dr. Williams holds a BS Degree in Speech, English and Dramatic Arts; a Master’s and PhD in Public Administration; Administration and Supervision Credential; Juris Doctorate and Doctor of Ministry from the following schools respectively: Grambling University (magna cum laude), University of Southern California, City University of Los Angeles, UCLA, Howard University School of Law (magna cum laude) and Wesley Theological Seminary.

She also has an Honorary Doctorate in Theology from Bethesda Biblical College of India.

A Member of the Board of Directors for the World Conference of Mayors and Historical Black Towns and Settlements Alliance. Dr. Williams currently represents the World Conference of Mayors on The Take Back Our Neighborhood Project.

She is a member of the Board of Directors for the National African American Reparations Commission and a member of the Advisory Board of the African Diaspora Development Institute (ADDI).

Dr. Williams is a member of the Board of the National Policy Alliance and is a member of the Board for the late Congressman Mervyn M. Dymally African American Political Institute.

Dr. Williams is the first Black person to run a viable political campaign for the U.S. Congress in Louisiana – narrowly missing victory by less than 1/2% after a mysterious “computer breakdown.” Supporters often refer to her as “Louisiana’s Congresswoman in Exile”.

A news talk show host for “Focus on the African World” for several years on Radio One. She later hosted “The George Washington Carver Health and Wellness Show” on WWGB Radio.

She is a regular guest on several radio programs, including “The Jim Engster Show” in Baton Rouge and “Urban Forum NW” on KKNW in Seattle. She has served as co-host of the “Women’s Hour” on Sirius XM Radio 127 with Mark Thompson.

Currently Dr. Williams is a weekly contributing columnist for Trice-Edney Wire Service and host of “Wake Up and Stay Woke” in remembrance of the late Dick Gregory on WPFW-FM 89.3 in Washington, DC.

She’s a Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta and once received the National Delta Sigma Theta Award –The Delta Legacy Award “Women Making A Difference” at the 42nd National Convention.

Dr. Williams has received numerous awards from the National Congress of Black Women, one from the Los Angeles Chapter that is named in her honor --the Visionary Leadership Award.

She is a member of the D.C. Bar Association (Ret.), and Alpha Kappa Mu National Honor Society. She served as President of the Grambling Alumni Association for nearly 10 years, and a Shreveport, LA area Chapter was named in her honor.

Dr. Williams works with many other business, education, professional, peace, human rights, women’s rights and civic organizations – from which she has received hundreds of honors—including OIC’s Key to Success Award in business.

Another of her many honors includes Council for the National Interests They Dare to Speak Out Award for international work on peace and human rights.

She was inducted into The History Makers and received the Zeta Phi Beta Community Service Award. She’s a member of the Grambling University Hall of Fame. She’s received the prestigious NAACP Presidential Legacy Award.

Recipient of the Iota Phi Lambda Sorority’s Woman of the Year Award, Star Performer Award from the Asian Benevolent Society for work in creating diversity in business in D.C.

Dr. Williams received a Humanitarian Award from the African Hebrew Israelites, Winnie Mandela Endurance with Dignity award, Support A Child Foundation, Inc. and was honored as Woman Entrepreneur of the Year at the Indiana Black Expo.

She received the “I Rise Award” for work on Domestic Violence and the Woman of Courage Award from the National Women’s Political Caucus.

An inductee of Ford Motor Company’s Freedom Sisters, Sisterhood Agenda, Who’s Who in Black DC, and Indigo’s Sisterhood.

She was recognized as one of Ebony Magazine’s “100 Most Influential Black Americans” and “Power 150". She’s been honored by the Women’s History Alliance and the National Policy Alliance.
